Retension Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing medicines for the treatment of hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases. The Company’s product candidate, RTN-001, is a next-generation, once-daily, oral, small molecule phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitor designed to reduce blood pressure by potentiating nitric oxide signaling, a key mechanism underlying the development and severity of hypertension. RTN-001 is designed to lower blood pressure by potentiating endogenous nitric oxide levels and signaling, thus favoring the restoration of vascular homeostasis.

RTN-001 has been evaluated in two randomized, placebo-controlled Phase II pilot trials (Trial 07-05 and Trial 07-08) in adults with hypertension receiving up to four concomitant antihypertensive medications.
