Viridien is a French-based geophysical services company founded in 1931. Following its merger with Veritas DGC Inc. in January 2007, it became known as CGGVeritas (Compagnie Generale de Geophysique-Veritas) until January 2013 when the company changed its legal name back to CGG with the closing of the acquisition of Fugro's Geoscience Division. CGG is no longer an acronym, but the official company name.
